Coaching FAQ
We are happy to work with all levels and abilities of athletes.
We specialize in working with C-suite, entrepreneurs, and busy professionals. The majority of our athletes are long course athletes (half marathon & longer and 70.3 & longer), but we also work with short course athletes (5k, 10k, sprint tri, and Olympic tri).
Whichever kind of athlete you are, we always start with an initial consultation to discuss the best coaching options for you.
Absolutely. We work with athletes from around the world.
Monthly coaching (the Rising Star and Go Getter levels of coaching) is fully customized and individualized to each athlete. It as an ongoing relationship with your coach who delivers your training a regular intervals. Your coach monitors your progress and adjusts training and recovery where needed.
Training plans are a short term training option. Plans are created and delivered as one full block of training, usually leading up to one race. It does not include adjustments or monitoring of your training.
At a minimum, a simple sports watch that measures time is required.
While a GPS watch, heart rate monitor, and power meter aren't necessities, they are recommended because they will help us monitor and analyze your training and racing.
If you're interested in getting or upgrading any of these, your coach can help you decide which is best for you.
As an exercise physiologist, Coach Joan is qualified to discuss general nutrition as well as training and race day nutrition. If you're looking for more detailed advice or supplement prescription, we suggest you work with our recommended registered dietitians who can prescribe foods and supplements that are best suited to you and your particular needs. You will get the best results by working with both an exercise physiologist and a registered dietitian.

If you're a monthly coached athlete, your coach will upload your workouts directly to your calendar and will monitor & analyze your training regularly.
If you purchased a pre-made plan, the plan will be available in your training plan library and you will be able to apply the full plan to your calendar.
If you purchase a custom plan, your coach will upload the full plan directly onto your calendar.
This depends on which coaching package you select. Please review our coaching options available.
You must be catchable and dedicated to improving. Communication is extremely important. It's expected that you will update your coach frequently with workout updates, health updates, and schedule updates.

All you have to do is send us an email at least four weeks prior to your next billing cycle.

Membership FAQ
Everyone! We welcome all levels and abilities to join us. Whether you're a beginner, an experienced age grouper, a weekend warrior, or a professional athlete, you have a home here.
All-Access Membership is a yearly subscription. You will have access to this site while you are paying for your subscription.
Community Membership is free for as long as you keep your account.
You are also able to change your membership level anytime.
You can login to your Member Dashboard at RiseEndurance.com/member-resources.
Absolutely! You can upgrade or downgrade your membership anytime. You must be logged into the membership site in order to change your membership level.
Rise Endurance Memberships are auto-renewed until you cancel. To avoid being charged for the next period, you must cancel your membership prior to your membership renewal date.
You can cancel your membership while logged into the membership site. If you have questions or any problems changing your subscription, contact us at info@RiseEndurance.com prior to your renewal date.
All memberships can be reinstated at any time by visiting our website and registering for a membership again.
Training Plan FAQ
If you purchase a pre-made training plan, your plan will be available in your Training Plan or Final Surge library immediately. If you do not see it, refresh your page. If you purchase a custom training plan, our aim is to get you your plan as quickly as possible.

Health Coaching FAQ
Anyone who wants to improve their health and wellbeing will benefit from health coaching. We can work with everyone to help improve general health and wellness, but we also specialize in working with people to improve their heart health and reduce their cardiovascular risk factors.
This includes anyone who's concerned about their heart due to family history, anyone who has been advised by their doctor to work on reducing cardiovascular risk factors, and anyone who has graduated from a cardiac rehabilitation program.
We use TrainingPeaks to deliver your exercise program. To access your exercise calendar, login to TrainingPeaks.com.
Your coach will deliver your workouts directly to your calendar and will monitor & analyze it regularly.
Yes, you will need a heart rate monitor before starting health coaching. We cannot start your exercise program without one. If you don't have a heart rate monitor, your coach can help you decide which one is best for you.
You get two thirty minute phone calls a month as well as unlimited emails and texts with your coach.
No, you do not need a prescription for health coaching. Anyone can sign up to improve their health.
If you have a cardiologist that recommends certain restrictions or staying within specific limits, we will work with those guidelines. If you'd like us to communicate directly with your doctor so that they can discuss your needs with us, we would be happy to do that. We can also as send updates on your progress if you wish.
