When it comes to monthly coaching, we’re strong believers in delivering truly custom and individualized training. We don’t give cookie-cutter plans to our clients. Coaching is about constantly monitoring and progressing. Which is why we individualize everyone’s training based on their current fitness level, race goals, health goals, schedule, and sport skills.
As a Rise Endurance athlete, you’re prescribed detailed workouts and field tests so that we can monitor and adjust your training, fitness, health, and recovery. We won’t just throw any workouts onto your plan. We provide you with the training and guidance to race successfully and aid you in maintaining a healthy and injury-free lifestyle so that you can finish feeling strong and ready for your next challenge.
About Coach Joan
Coach Joan Scrivanich is an Exercise Physiologist and the owner of Rise Endurance where she guides both local and remote runners and triathletes in reaching their potential.
She is a proud first-generation born American; her parents immigrated to America from Sansego, Italy and a strong work ethic was instilled in her at a young age. She has been active her whole life and participated in many sports and activities.
Joan has been a dedicated endurance athlete for over 30 years. She was a Division I college athlete in Cross Country and Track and has experience training and racing for Ironman races, marathons, and countless other triathlons, road races, and trail races. Her athletic background took seed as a kid when she swam for a top-ranked local swim team. Throughout her life she has participated in various other sports, including being a certified NAUI scuba diver.

Joan holds an advanced degree in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University. Her certifications also include the industry-leading Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, USA Track & Field Level 2 Endurance certification, and USA Triathlon Level 2 Endurance certification. Before becoming a full-time coach, she worked in the healthcare field at the nation’s top ranked hospitals in New York City, which included Columbia University Medical Center, Mt. Sinai Medical Center, and NYU Medical Center.
In addition to coaching runners and triathletes, Joan also offers nutrition coaching and mentors other coaches
As an Exercise Physiologist, Joan is an allied health professional who’s qualified to prescribe exercise as well as conduct and evaluate fitness and exercise assessments. Her graduate level studies have included physiology, psychology, sleep, nutrition, and health. She has studied the body’s responses and adaptations to exercise in depth and can apply her knowledge to improving your health and athletic performance.

She has written for a variety of national media, including USA Triathlon Magazine, Triathlon Lifestyle Magazine, and USA Triathlon Multisport Zone. She has been featured as an expert in Runner’s World, Triathlete Magazine, Shape, and many other outlets.
