Joan Scrivanich is a Coach and Exercise Physiologist who works with both local and remote athletes. She is headquartered in Fort Lee, NJ with locations in Brant Beach, NJ and Lake Placid, NY.

Coach Joan takes a holistic approach to coaching; her scientifically based training is athlete-centered and takes the whole athlete into account in order for athletes to become empowered and reach their full potential.

About Coach Joan and Rise Endurance

Joan holds an advanced degree in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University, an Ivy League research university in New York City. She also holds the industry-leading Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning. Before becoming a full-time coach, she worked in the healthcare field at the nation’s top ranked hospitals in New York City, which included Columbia University Medical Center, Mt. Sinai Medical Center, and NYU Medical Center.

Having a coach who’s an Exercise Physiologist means that you have a health professional on your side who’s qualified to conduct and evaluate fitness and exercise assessments. Joan has studied the body’s responses and adaptations to exercise and can apply her knowledge to improve your athletic performance and prepare you for your races.

Joan is a proud first-generation born American and a strong work ethic was instilled in her at a young age. She has been an endurance athlete for close to 30 years and has experience training & racing for many races, including Ironman races, marathons, and countless other triathlons, road races, and trail races. She was a Division I college athlete in Cross Country and Track and began her lifelong athletic career as a kid swimming for a top ranked local swim team.
